Anti-chlorine vitamin C spray DIY

Summer months coming up it’s time for swimming so repost of the vitamin C spray recipe ☀️ 🌊
🏖️ Why use vitamin c spray while swimming
Vitamin C spray is a popular solution for swimmers to neutralize the negative effects of chlorine in pool water. Here are some reasons why using a vitamin C spray while swimming is beneficial:
-Neutralizes Chlorine: Vitamin C helps to break down and neutralize chlorine, reducing its harmful effects on skin and hair.
-Protects Skin: Chlorine can cause skin irritation, dryness, and itchiness. Vitamin C spray helps to protect the skin from these effects, leaving it feeling soft and moisturized.
-Prevents Hair Damage: Chlorine can damage hair, causing it to become dry, brittle, and prone to breakage. Vitamin C spray helps to neutralize chlorine and prevent hair damage.
-Reduces Chlorine Smell: Vitamin C spray can help eliminate the strong chlorine smell that can linger on skin and hair after swimming.
Vitamin C, also known as ascorbic acid, is effective in neutralizing chlorine. There are two forms of Vitamin C that work well for this purpose: sodium ascorbate and ascorbic acid. Both forms can be used to remove chlorine from water, making it safe for consumption or use.
🏖️ How Vitamin C Neutralizes Chlorine
Vitamin C rapidly reduces oxidizing chlorine compounds, such as HOCl, ClO-, and Cl2, making it an effective method for dechlorinating water. This process produces inorganic halides and dehydroascorbic acid as byproducts, rather than halogenated organic molecules.
Benefits of Using Vitamin C to Neutralize Chlorine
Using Vitamin C to neutralize chlorine has several benefits, including:
* Removing chlorine from water, making it safe for consumption or use
* Reducing the negative effects of chlorine on the body, hair, and clothes
* Providing antioxidant benefits, such as protecting the body from free radical damage and reducing inflammation
* Boosting immunity and supporting overall health

🚨vitamin C will degrade once mixed with a solution after 48 hours so make this in small batches.
Ingredients:
* 1 teaspoon of sodium ascorbate (vitamin C powder)
* 4oz of vegetable glycerin
* 4oz Distilled water
Instructions:
1. In a small bowl, mix 1 teaspoon of sodium ascorbate with the distilled water
2. Add the vegetable glycerin to the bowl and mix. You want the mixture to be thick enough to spray, but not too thick.
3. Transfer the mixture to a small spray bottle.
4. Shake the bottle well before each use to ensure the ingredients are well-mixed.
Tips and Variations:
🏖️ You can adjust the ratio of sodium ascorbate to vegetable glycerin to suit your skin type. Some people prefer a stronger vitamin C concentration, while others prefer a more gentle formula.
🏖️ If you find the mixture too sticky, you can add a small amount of distilled water to thin it out
🏖️ you can substitute the glycerin for aloe gel
