Commonly used preservatives with hidden ingredients that aren’t toxin-free

In the world of formulation there is always the argument of preservatives, which ones are non toxic which aren’t, when are they necessary ect. A lot of formulators use these common preservatives; some without disclosing beyond their product name (and yes this is legal). The lack of transparency using the name doesn’t really support informed choices so …. This blog aims to show you what’s inside the product name that isn’t being disclosed so you can be aware of hidden toxins. This doesn’t mean all forms of preservatives are bad and never to use them. On the contrary there is a balance to formulation, preservation, and clean living. This blogs intended purpose is simply so we can to be aware of risk on both sides and of course decide for ourselves what we’re most comfortable with. This is not an exhaustive list but it is some of the most common you’ll see primarily in smaller business’s ingredients labels. I’ll be adding to this list as I come across more and I’ll make a separate blog on some cleaner options for the formulators out there who maybe reading this
