🤒 ARE FEVERS HELPFUL OR HARMFUL? 🤒

🤒 ARE FEVERS HELPFUL OR HARMFUL? 🤒

🤒 ARE FEVERS HELPFUL OR HARMFUL? 🤒

With school back in session I figure now is a good time for the fever post.

Fevers aren’t inherently bad. A fever isn’t high grade unless 104+ and Brain damage doesn’t really occur till around 107-108 and that’s rare.

Febrile Seizures that occur are primarily due to temperature fluctuations happening rapidly not fevers themselves.

Generally you want to treat based on symptoms and not the number. Is baby lethargic or playing? Slightly crummy are super ill?

Things you can do naturally to bring down fevers
- homeopathics like belladonna
Herbs like elderflower, yarrow, catnip, peppermint, lemon balm
- Luke warm baths with Epsom salts and clay
- ice pops
- getting stripped to a diaper and sitting with a fan
- cool compresses
- sipping cool fluids

Things you can do naturally so support immunity
-elderberry
-camu camu/ acerola berry
- echinacea
- broths and teas

Right now you want to focus on rest and support not necessarily breaking the fever. The fever is the bodies way of fighting off the pathogen. https://www.childrenscolorado.org/conditions-and-advice/conditions-and-symptoms/special-topics/fever---myths-versus-facts/

If you absolutely just feel like you need to utilize meds
- Genexa acetaminophen
- dye free Motrin

If you choose to use these; there is ZERO shame in needing to use these if you do need them or simply choose to do so.

And depending on age you want to pair these with NAC

Fevers can be super scary but they don’t have to be. I hope your little feels better ❤️🩹
